Nearly 5.7 people, half of the entire Haitian population, are experiencing high levels of acute food insecurity. This means they do not know where their next meal will come from and every day it is a struggle to put food on the table.
At Chanje Movement, we are doing our best to feed as many people as possible. The 20 children at our children’s shelter are fed every single day and many of them are learning how to cook. We do monthly hot food distribution in some of the roughest parts of Port Au Prince. And twice a year, we distribute meal kits of rice, beans, spaghetti and oil to families and senior saints.
Below is a video from Ms. M, Outreach Coordinator for Chanje Movement, sharing a story about a women who receive food at a recent meal kit distribution. Like so many stories out of Haiti, this one is beautiful and devastating.
If you would like to help us feed more people in Haiti, you can donate at chanje.org/give or just click the big orange button at the top of this web page. Thank you for your generosity and your investment into the lives of Haitian families and children.

There was this older lady when we was doing outreach, and, um, she came and she was like, “Oh, thank God.” And I was listening to her, she was like, “Oh, today I’m really gonna eat.
I’m gonna get well today.” And it really touched me because, you know, all the time that I know that we’re doing good for the people, but hearing somebody really speak on it and seeing the impact of a person saying that, “Oh, wow, today I’m gonna eat,” you know? “I’m really gonna get well today.” It’s really a little – it’s touching.
